About the project

Brasal Refrigerantes, the largest Coca-Cola distributor in Brasília, introduced smart fridges into residential condominiums to modernize the vending experience. These connected fridges allowed users to unlock, select, and pay for products directly through an app, but the first version wasn’t delivering the convenience it promised.

Users struggled with unstable connections, poor feedback during the purchase process, and security flaws that allowed the system to be bypassed. What should’ve been a quick, frictionless interaction often turned into frustration and operational headaches.

My role was to redesign the Coca-Cola Smart Fridge experience end to end, improving usability, expanding payment methods, and restoring user trust in the product’s reliability.

The solution

We rebuilt the entire user experience from the ground up, focusing on simplicity, trust, and technical consistency.

The new flow guided users more intuitively from unlocking the fridge to confirming payment, reducing time and errors at every step. We also expanded payment options beyond credit cards — integrating digital wallets, Pix, and loyalty points, which made the product more inclusive for different customer profiles.

We also introduced real-time alerts for restocking and promotional notifications, transforming what used to be a purely transactional experience into an interactive product ecosystem.

After the redesign, usability tests and operational data revealed a significant improvement across all key metrics.
